Apartment life in Kennett
Square
Historic Kennett Square, population slightly
over 5,000, is a quintessential hometown community.
Situated in the beautiful Brandywine Valley in rural southern
Chester County, the borough, just one mile square, is located
only twelve miles from Wilmington, Delaware, and 25 miles
from Philadelphia with easy access to routes 1 and 202. Known
as the Mushroom Capital of the World, Kennett Square is the
smallest town in the U.S. with its own symphony orchestra.
Many of the boroughs homes and buildings are listed
on the National Register of Historic Places. In fact, most
of its downtown and half of the entire borough is designated
as a National Historic District. The downtown business district
is a delightful place for a stroll, featuring quaint architecture
and a variety of stores and restaurants. An 82-acre park and
nearby golf courses provide local recreational opportunities
and nearby Brandywine Valley historic, cultural, and natural
attractions provide a variety of additional leisure time opportunities.
