North Wales

North Wales was founded by Welsh immigrants in the early 18th century and expanded with the growth of the Pennsylvania Railroad. In the 19th and early 20th centuries many wealthy Philadelphians built houses here, and dignitaries from around the world came to visit. South Street boasts some of the most attractive architecture in the state. Walnut Street’s commercial district has just about everything you’d need from a small town, including two banks and a number of restaurants. A number of lovely public parks are also scattered through the township, and there are many apartments for rent.
